After joining the Reality Gym or Reality Gym option how long does it take for my gym membership to be activated? |

It takes about 3 - 4 working days from the day we receive your proof of payment. Proof of payment must be faxed to (021) 700 8750. |

How does Reality know how many times I have attended the gym for the month? |
|
We receive an attendance download from both Virgin Active and Planet Fitness one month in arrears. This will basically be a record keeping of all the times you have attended the gym for the previous months. |

Can my spouse and/or dependants gym with me on my membership? |
|
If you are the principle member on BESTmed Medical Aid and your spouse and/or dependants are on your medical aid only then can they too can join the gym. |

What is the qualifying criteria for joining Reality Gym and Reality Gym? |
|
There are 2 qualifying criteria. 1.You need to have 2 or more qualifying products with the Sanlam group or 2.You must be a BESTmed Medical Aid member. |

Your Reality discount is divided into two parts: – Base discount All members who are on the Reality gym option receive a monthly base discount of R100, no matter which Virgin Active or Planet Fitness branch you belong to. – Usage-based discount This discount is based on your gym usage – the more you gym, the bigger your monthly discount! Your gym usage is calculated using the last month’s activity prior to your debit order being deducted. Note that the minimum fee that you pay for your Reality gym option is R149 per month. Your deduction date may, in some cases, however, be calculated on the activity two months prior to the payment date. |

To work out what your monthly debit order will be, simply use the following formula: Reality gym membership fee + gym club fee – (base discount + usage-based discount) = Total Reality debit-order payment for month * For example, if a member accesses gym 12 times per month, the monthly fee is R149 + R370 – (R100 + R250) = R169. This is for illustrative purposes only, as gym club fees differ. Enquire at your local gym to find out what your gym club fee is. Note that, if the total discount (base and usage-based discount) that you earn exceeds your monthly gym club fee, your account is debited with your monthly Reality + gym membership fee of R149 only. |

Does the above discount apply to my spouse and/or dependants? |
|
If there are dependants and/or a spouse on members’ membership, the above discounts apply to each dependant of 18 years or older; principal members must be a Reality ++ member for the dependants to join as Reality ++ gym members under the Reality contract. |

Virgin Active members may gym only at the original club that they joined, unless they take out premier membership via a special arrangement directly with their Virgin Active club. Planet Fitness members may gym at most clubs. |

Can my spouse/ dependant join a different gym or must they join the same gym that I am at? |
|
Yes, they are allowed to join a different gym. However, if they take out premier membership they’ll need to pay more. |

Must I pay a cancellation fee if I want to end my gym contract? |
|
If you cancel your gym contract within 12 months from joining you’ll have to pay a R500 cancellation fee. If you cancel it after the 12 month joining period you don’t have to pay a cancellation fee. |

It may take up to six weeks before members receive their welcome packs, as this depends on the postage system. Your welcome pack will include your Reality card and Reality Programme book. |

The Reality 2FOR1 Dining benefit entitles you to a free meal (to a maximum value of R120) at a participating restaurant, when another meal of same value or more is purchased at the full price. The free meal will be the cheaper meal. Therefore is your cheaper main meal is only R79 you will only receive R79 of your total bill but your cheaper free meal can be up to R120 only of the other main meal is of the same value (R120) or more. |
